A new lease signed in December 2004 between the Campo Band
of Kumeyaay Indians and BLT., Inc. has breathed new life into
the controversial plans for a landfill site in the Campo area.

A 46-year-old San Diego man dies in a rollover crash on
Buckman Springs Road Wednesday morning, April 13.
Cross-country mule traveler stops in Alpine for a visit
Bernie Harberts and his traveling companions, a mule names
Woody and a pack horse named Maggie passed through Alpine on
their way to the Pacific ocean. The three have traveled for more
than a year by foot and hoof from the North Carolina coast.
Local second-grader 4th in national ski
competition
Rachel Des Rochers took fourth place at the National Ski
Championship NASTAR races held at the end of March. Des Rochers
is eight-years-old.
Homeschool learners wet and wild day a Sea World
Mountain View Learning Academy students spent the day at Sea
