Input could have little
effect on airport selection site
The San Diego Airport Authority has been ramping up efforts to
collect public opinion on plans for a new airport, including
town hall meetings and a Web dialogue. While the issue is still
only scientific at this point, the issue will have to go to
public ballot before it is decided.
Rural planners seek study before adoption of densities
Responding to concerns from Back Country residents and San Diego
County Supervisor Dianne Jacob, the Campo Lake Morena Community
Planning Group has put together a resolution asking for
expedition of groundwater studies to be completed before
development applications are processed.
Residents seek historical designation as Old 80 nears 80
years old
Citizens are seeking to have the road officially named as a
historic highway, which would mean new signs and renovations
along the route.
A salute to local Teachers of the Year
Laurie Dots, a kindergarten teacher from Creekside Early
Learning Center, and Karen Anglin, a third grade teacher at
Campo Elementary, have received this honor in the Alpine and Mtn.
Empire Districts and will continue to compete for San Diego
County Teacher of the Year.
