Teachers seek $20,000 retirement bonus

Bring bears for hurricane's displaced children
The Alpine Sun is the local drop-off point for teddy bears, which organizers Rose Urdahl and Rescue Task Force are collecting to help provide cuddles and comfort to Hurricane Katrina's displaced children. Urdahl has made a project of collecting bears for children at local hospitals for four years. The goal for this project is to collect at least 3,000 teddy bears. Bring as many new or like-new bears as you wish to 2144 Alpine Blvd, between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
