Back Country water studies are finally underway
“Studies don’t show any groundwater problems currently existing in Campo and Lake Morena,” said San Diego County Department of Planning and Land Use groundwater geologist Jim Bennett.

Naked arsonist faces 35-year sentence as third strike defendant
An Alpine man who was charged with setting a pepper tree on fire — incidentally while he was nude — was found guilty by a jury last week, of arson of a forest land. 

Animal Jungle find homes for shelter pets
The sweet, gentle sounds of a folk harp greeting visitors to the Re-Grand Opening of the Alpine Animal Jungle on Saturday, Aug.26, are not intended just to entertain the guests. The music has a more important purpose according to Sue Rabbord, the harpist.
