JK
Corral gets new
owner — local businesses
to remain undisturbed
ALPINE — Erik Bjontegard, president of newly merged Realty World City Village Realty, brokered a deal to sell the JK Corral.
The Worley’s of East County are the proud new owners, promising to enhance the charming image of the mountain village that Yvette and Sherry Klucewich created during their long tenure.
“We’ve developed an expertise in creating destination properties in a manner that is beneficial to the environment and pleasing to customers through our long relationship with the San Diego Zoo and Wild Animal Park,” said Steven Worley, who runs the family-owned construction company. “We were responsible for the majority of construction there for the last 25 years.”
The property along Alpine Boulevard includes a large nursery, trailer park, day spas, retail stores and Janet’s Montana Café, which anchors the small center.
“It’s with sadness that I am closing this chapter of my life as this was my baby, my second home,” Yvette Kluce sighed. “But I’m excited to have such nice new owners take over where I left off, and I feel confident that the Worley family will continue to improve and make this the true destination that it should be.”
The JK Corral name will be maintained, and all the lease holders have been offered an opportunity to continue to operate their businesses including Alpine Mountain Reading Center, Earth Wind and Sea Florist, Andy King’s photography, State Farm, the Hidden Creek Spa, The Chic Boutique, Moose Creek Nursery and, of course, Janet’s which won the San Diego Magazine’s Best Breakfast award.
“We frequent Janet’s Café ourselves,” Worley said. “We look forward to being here even more often!”
