BCLT has sunset walk in Wright’s Field
     ALPINE — The Back Country Land Trust is offering a sunset walk in Wright’s Field on Sunday, April 2, beginning at 6 p.m.
     BCLT board member and Cuyamaca College Geography Professor Michael Wangler will be on hand to speak during the walk. Enjoy the preserve’s natural beauty, unique history, and spring sprouts as the sun sets over this scenic native grassland.
Meet in the Joan MacQueen Middle School parking lot at 2001 Tavern Road. The walk is free for all those interested in taking part. This is a great opportunity to take photos for the Wright’s Field 2006 Photo Contest.

Campo-Lake Morena roundup
     CAMPO — The Campo-Lake Morena roundup will take place Saturday, April 8 at DDD Ranch on Lake Morena Boulevard in Campo.
     Admission is $5 per person at the gate. Events during the day include all-day gymkhana, wild cow milking, ranch roping, bull riding, a mountain man encampment, an 1800s gunfight featuring the Hole-In-The-Wall Gang, and vendor booths and exhibits.

VFW gears up for Easter
     CAMPO — The annual Campo VFW Post 2080 Bicycle Rodeo and Easter Egg Hunt will take place April 9.
     Egg Hunt, Bike Rodeo, food and prizes for the kids. Watch for details coming soon.

Harbison Canyon Lions hold egg hunt
     EL CAJON — The Harbison Canyon Lions will hold an Easter Egg Hunt for local children at noon on April 15 to gather eggs and enjoy old-fashioned fun, such as an egg toss and other activities.
     There will be a silent auction to raise money to help fund two Harbison Canyon Lions scholarships of $500 each, as well as other Lions' charities.

Committee to discuss new high school
     ALPINE — The Alpine High School Citizens Committee will meet Monday, April 17 at 7 p.m. at the Alpine Community Center.
     Grossmont Union High School District superintendent Terry Ryan and other district trustees will be on hand at the meeting to update the public on the search for a school site in Alpine and answer questions from attendees.

Kiwanis holds child safety event at community center
     ALPINE — On Saturday, June 3, the child safety event will be held at the Alpine Community Center’s Parking lot, 1830 Alpine Blvd., in Alpine. The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
     Eight professional trained staff members from the San Diego Safe Kids Coalition will be on hand to inspect and/or install your child's car seat. The Sponsors are asking the Public to come to our Event and your child’s car seat inspected or installed and help correct incorrectly installed seats.

Bethel Assembly hosts dinner theater
     ALPINE — Bethel Christian Assembly located at 1929 Arnold Way, will be having a mystery dinner theater on March 31. Dinner will be served at 6:45 p.m. The show is, The Show Stopping Nun Nabber.
     In the play, soon following the first act, actors begin to turn up missing. This mystery dinner theater is filled with laughs, turns, twists, and a great dinner and dessert.
     The cost for tickets is $10 pre-sell, and $11 at the door. Seating is limited, so please make sure to get your tickets soon.

MOMS club reschedules rummage sale
     EL CAJON — The MOMS Club of Alpine and Mountain Empire will hold its annual Rummage Sale on Saturday, April 1, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., in the Los Coches Wal-Mart Parking Lot, 13487 Camino Canada, El Cajon.
     The sale features bargains on all types of maternity, baby and children's clothing, toys and gear. All funds generated by this event will be given to local charities benefiting women and children. The group is a local chapter of the nonprofit International MOMS (Moms Offering Moms Support) Club.

Kiwanis holds annual Easter breakfast
     ALPINE — The Kiwanis Club of Alpine will hold their 52nd Annual Carmelo Manuele Easter Pancake Breakfast on Sunday, April 16, from 7 a.m. to noon. 
    Breakfast includes scrambled eggs, sausage, pancakes, juice, coffee and milk, and the Easter Bunny will be on hand for photos. The Annual Event is held at the Alpine Elementary School Auditorium located at 1850 Alpine Blvd. Tickets are $5 donations for adults and $2 for children, 12 years and under.
     Tickets may be purchased at Alpine True Value Hardware, The Alpine Chamber of Commerce, from any Kiwanian or at the door.

Knights of Columbus host luau
     ALPINE — The Knights of Columbus will hold a Taste of the Islands Luau at the Alpine Community Center on Saturday, June 3, from 6 to 11 p.m. For more information one may contact Larry Galm at 445-5750.

Bethel invites children to Fiesta
     ALPINE — Bethel Christian Assembly invites all children ages three to 12, to a Fiesta, where c hildren are fired up about Jesus.
     Fiesta is an exciting way for kids to learn more about Jesus’ love, and the children will have fun doing Bible learning activities, singing songs, playing team building games, nibble Maraca Munchies and take on a daily challenge to let Jesus grow in their homes.
     Fiesta begins on April 10 and continues through April 14, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., at Bethel Christian Assembly, 1929 Arnold Way

Kiwanis Club of Alpine participates in walk for multiple sclerosis
     SAN DIEGO — The Kiwanis Club of Alpine is sending a team, the Alpine Trailblazers, down to the Embarcadero on Sunday, April 30 to participate in the 2006 MS Walk. Walkers have their choice of taking a 5K or 10K stroll along the San Diego Bay while raising money to help those who suffer from Multiple Sclerosis. 
     The Alpine Trailblazers are looking for additional team members or those who would like to pledge them with a donation. If you would like to walk or sponsor this team please call team captain, Jan Herold at 445-5255.
