The county’s Planning Commission sent proposed revisions
to the county’s groundwater ordinance involving residential well
test requirements and boundary adjustments to the Board of
Supervisors with a positive recommendation.
TIP will help Alpine victims deal with disaster
The citizens of
Alpine will soon benefit from a new victim-assistance program
coming to town. The Trauma Intervention Program (TIP) is a
non-profit organization, staffed with volunteers who offer
emotional support to victims and survivors of trauma or tragedy,
such as major automobile accidents, violent crime, residential
fires and incidents of a devastating nature.

BP exacts heavy toll on drug smugglers
Since Oct. 1, CBP Border Patrol agents in San Diego have
seized 7,808 pounds of marijuana, representing a 37 percent
increase from last fiscal year to date. In the most recent
smuggling event, agents seized over 2,000 pounds of marijuana.
