Elections bring some new faces to local groups
More than two weeks after the midterm elections, ballot counting in San Diego County has finally been completed. While, in general, the absentee, provisional and other paper ballots that were left did not sway many election winners, their impact was felt on several local boards and groups, where races are often won or lost by only hundreds, or even dozens of votes.  

BOS authorizes contract for Willows work 
The San Diego County Board of Supervisors voted 5-0 Nov. 15 to authorize the advertisement for bid and subsequent award of a construction contract for work to improve Willows Road and Viejas Grade Road. 

Peutz Valley residents make use of dead wood at Jam
More than 30 Peutz Valley neighbors, and several volunteers from the Alpine Revitalization effort, gathered on Nov. 19 at Joe and Rita Sterling’s property for the first ever “Peutz Valley Log Jam.”
