45th annual Alpine Viejas Days Parade
The annual Alpine
Days parade stepped off last Saturday morning, beginning at
South Grade Road and strolling down Alpine Boulevard. The parade
kicked off with two parachuters floating down and landing in the
middle of the road at the five-way stop. Many school bands
played, including Steele Canyon. Lots of candy was tossed from
floats, sending children scrambling to gather it all up off the
road. Even Congressman Duncan Hunter and his wife Lynne rode in
the parade, waving to residents. At bottom right, the Alpine
Mountaineer cheer squads shout from their float in the parade.
Many local organizations and individuals also took part in this
year’s parade.
