While Old Highway 80 dedication ceremonies took place all over the county, Alpine joined in with its unique style to celebrate the event. While much of the action was taking place at Viejas, with classic car groups traveling the old route from Yuma and Seaport Village to meet up in the middle at the casino, a celebration at the Alpine Women’s Club offered residents lots of entertainment. The classic cars rolled down Alpine Boulevard, which was part of the original Old Highway 80. The cavalcade stopped for a brief moment in the center of town to show off the classic vehicles before heading off to Viejas.
