Carson ordered to
trial for murder
After a two-day preliminary hearing, a judge determined
on Nov. 28 that Robert Steven Carson should stand trial for
murder in the death of a Santee woman whose body was found in a
recycling container near Buckman Springs Road.
Weekend crashes claim local lives
On Thursday, Nov. 29, at approximately 9:15 a.m. a
56-year-old female from Alpine, was traveling eastbound on
Willows Road in a 1998 Ford Contour. According to witnesses and
physical evidence, she was traveling at a high rate of speed and
came upon slower moving traffic as she approached the
intersection with Viejas Grade Road.

Diego county paramedics emerged victorious in an international
competition that tested both their clinical skills as well as
their teamwork.
Congressional panel grills local officials on recent
wildfires
U.S. Senator Diane Feinstein (D-CA) chaired a
Senate Interior Appropriations Subcommittee hearing in San Diego
on Tuesday, Nov. 27 to investigate prevention, impact and
disaster relief efforts related to the October 2007 wildfires.
Senator Wayne Allard (R-CO) and Congressman Bob Filner (D-San
Diego) also participated in the inquiry into local, state and
federal officials’ actions.
