Alpine woman faces
sentencing March 24 for illegal hauling
An Alpine woman who pleaded guilty to hauling hazardous
waste for which she did not have a license faces sentencing
March 24, but she is likely to be placed on probation with a
$2,000 fine.
Spirited local youth acknowledged with school awards and
recognition
When Kyle Manis, a
senior at Steele Canyon High School, opened his letter of
acceptance from Webb Institute in Glen Cove, Long Island, it was
the third wonderful event for him in the past few weeks. It
means that he can spend his college years achieving his goal of
becoming a professional naval architect and marine engineer.
Supervisors set hearing for Alpine library site purchase
A March 25 hearing has been set for the approval of the
County of San Diego’s purchase of 0.78 acres in Alpine for the
construction of a new branch library. In addition to approving
the hearing date, the supervisors also established
appropriations of $498,200 in the Capital Outlay Fund for the
Alpine branch library.

Albertsons corner placed on county’s signal priority list
The San Diego County Board of Supervisors voted 5-0 Feb.
27 to place the intersection of Alpine Boulevard and South Grade
Road/East Victoria Drive, the corner of the new Alpine
Albertsons, on the county’s Traffic Signal Priority List.
