ALPINE — Alpine Country Gifts and Crafts will be presenting
its 14th Annual Springtime Home and Garden Show at the
Historic Alpine’s Women’s Club at 2156 Alpine Blvd. on
Thursday, March 6, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. The Show will be
open on March 7 and 8 from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and March 9 from
9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Homecrafted items will be stocked daily
from 30 crafters.
ME little league cake and cap night
PINE VALLEY — Mountain Empire Little League welcomes all to
their Cake and Cap Night on Sunday, March 9 at 3 p.m. at the
Pine Valley Bible Conference Center.
One may purchase dinner for $5, and can partake in the
silent auction, cake auction and Little League Shirts and
Hats Sale. There will be a gear donation table as well. For

Hoofin’ fund raiser
ALPINE — The Vine Wine Bar and Bistro is hosting the
kick-off fund raising event for “Hoofin’ for Hooters,” a
local team of women who will be participating in this year’s
3-Day Breast Cancer Walk benefiting the Susan G Komen for
the Cure. The team’s goal is to raise $9,000 this year.
The Tasting is scheduled for Sunday, March 9 from 2-5 p.m.
and is open to the public, but tickets must be purchased in
advance. Prices are $30.

Career Day
ALPINE — Joan Mac Queen Middle School will host its Career
Day for all seventh graders on Friday, March 14, from 9:15
to 11 a.m.
During this event business people from the community have
been invited to share their expertise with students,
speaking about education, training and skills that are used
in their daily jobs.

Minutemen highway clean up
CAMPO — The Campo Minutemen are gathering for a “Campo
Minutemen Highway Clean-up on Saturday, March 15 from 9 a.m.
to 12 p.m. at Oak and Buckman Springs Road, Campo.
Since 2006, the Campo Minutemen have removed 14,000 pounds
of trash. Please bring gloves, warm jacket and comfortable
shoes reflector vests and trash tongs will be provided.
Lunch will be provided, courtesy of the Campo Minutemen at
the Campo Diner.

Viejas Easter Egg Hunt
ALPINE — Come welcome the Easter Bunny and join in the
frenzied fun of an old-fashioned Easter Egg Hunt and Fun
Festival at the Viejas Outlet Center Park, Saturday, March
15 from noon to 4 p.m.
There will be fun and games in the park all afternoon,
including the Duckling Dash where you could win a $500
Viejas Gift Card. To register for the Dash, simply show a
$25 receipt from that day, or you can bring a canned food
item or an unwrapped toy for the East County Food and Toy
Drive and you’re eligible to participate.
Egg Hunts are broken up in to different age groups.
Caregiver program
DESCANSO — The Grossmont Hospital Caregiver Resource Center
will host a caregivers program on Saturday, March 15 at 11
a.m. at the Descanso Library. The program will will cover
the emotional issues of general caregiving for seniors.

Bloodmobile visit
The San Diego Blood Bank bloodmobile will accept blood
donations at an open to the public blood drive will take
place at the Alpine Woman’s Club, 2156 Alpine Blvd.,
Saturday, March 15, from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The bloodmobile
will be parked in the parking lot.
Another drive will be hosted by Viejas Casino, 5000 Willows
Road, Alpine, Tuesday, March 18, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

JMMS bunco night
ALPINE — Joan Mac Queen Middle School will host its annual
Bunko Night on Thursday, March 13 at Viejas Dreamcatcher
Lounge.
Check-in is at 5 p.m. Tickets are $15, which includes food,
soft drinks and a game of Bunco.
