Easter bunny at the ACC
ALPINE — The Alpine Community Center will host Breakfast with the Easter Bunny on Saturday, April 4 from 8:30 to 11 a.m.
Tickets are $12 per person, which includes breakfast with the Easter Bunny, a photo and an Easter Egg hunt. Tickets must be purchased in advance and are not available at the door.

Community protest meeting
ALPINE — The East County Community Action Coalition (ECCAC) will be holding an all-hands-on community meeting to protest SDG&E’s proposed Sunrise Powerlink, to be held on Monday, April 6, from 6-8 p.m. at the Alpine Community Center.
The event will have speakers, and exhibits, and specific calls to action that Alpine can do as a community to stop the Sunrise Powerlink.

Geo-caching Easter egg hunt
BOULEVARD — Sacred Rocks Reserve’s Geo-Caching Easter Egg Treasure Hunt and “Hug a Tree” Wilderness Survival Course will be held Saturday, April 4. Geo-Caching Easter Egg Hunt will be held from 10 a.m. until noon. The “Hug a Tree” Wilderness Survival Course will be held from 2-4 p.m. on the same day.

ACC rummage sale
ALPINE — The Alpine Community Church will hold its annual Gigantic Rummage sale at the church, 2225 West Victoria on Friday and Saturday, April 24 and 25.
Avalable from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. will be abundant housahold goods, children’s and baby needs, furniture, garden equipment and a large selection of clothing.

Good Friday service
ALPINE — The Alpine Christian Ministerial Association will hold its annual Stations of the Cross service at Noon on Good Friday, April 10.
Area pastors will read Bible passages of Jesus making his way to be crucified, the focus of the Good Friday commemoration. This is an opportunity for Christians of all denominations to witness together the great love of God to have Jesus offer his life upon the Cross.
The service begins at Noon at the South entrance to Queen of Angels’ Church, 2569 W. Victoria Dr, Alpine.

Luke Barbour Scholarship
DESCANSO — The Descanso Town Hall Association’s 15th Annual Luke Barbour Scholarship competition is now underway. There will be two winners who will each win $1,000 to be sent to the school of their choice in their name. Applications are available at Perkins Store the Descanso Library and MHCS. As in the past, there is an essay portion, due April 10, and an interview portion.

Easter breakfast
ALPINE — The 55th Annual Alpine Kiwanis Pancake Breakfast, will be served from 7 a.m. to 12 noon at the Alpine Elementary School on Easter Sunday, April 12.
Members of the Alpine Kiwanis will prepare and serve a delicious breakfast for a $5 donation. The Easter Bunny will be there to greet the children, and the little ones will have an opportunity to enjoy an Easter Egg hunt as well.

Historical luncheon
ALPINE — The Alpine Historical Society will be having their quarterly potluck luncheon on Sunday, April 19 at 1 p.m. at the Alpine Woman’s Club, 2156 Alpine Blvd.
This is free and open to the public. At 2 p.m. Dr. Leland Fetzer will be the featured speaker. Mr. Fetzer’s chief interest has been the history of the Julian, Banner, and Cuyamaca mountain area.
