ALPINE — The Alpine
Christian Ministerial Association will hold its annual
Biblical Stations of the Cross service at Noon on Good
Friday, April 10. This is an opportunity for Christians of
all denominations to witness together the great love of God
to have Jesus offer his life upon the Cross.
The service begins at noon at the South entrance to
Queen of Angels’ Church, 2569 W. Victoria Dr, Alpine.
Kiwanis Easter breakfast
ALPINE — The 55th Annual
Alpine Kiwanis Pancake Breakfast, will be served from 7 a.m.
to 12 noon at the Alpine Elementary School on Easter Sunday,
April 12.
Members of the Alpine Kiwanis will prepare and serve a
delicious breakfast for a $5 donation. The jovial Easter
Bunny will be there to greet the children, and the little
ones will have an opportunity to enjoy an Easter Egg Hunt as
well. Tickets are on sale with Alpine Kiwanis members and
will be available at the door on Easter Sunday as well.
Guitar class performances
ALPINE — The students of
www.FreeTeenGuitarClass.com, a free guitar instruction
program for teens in Alpine, will be performing on Easter
Sunday, April 12, at the Sunrise Service in the Alpine
Community Center Park (1830 Alpine Blvd).
Students will perform Beethoven, traditional and
contemporary Easter songs. They will join the regular
musicians for the service. All are welcome to this Easter
morning 8:30 a.m. performance and worship.

Historical Society luncheon
ALPINE — The Alpine
Historical Society will be having their quarterly potluck
luncheon on Sunday, April 19 at 1 p.m. at the Alpine Woman’s
Club, 2156 Alpine Blvd.
This is free and open to the public. At 2 p.m. Dr.
Leland Fetzer will be the featured speaker. Mr. Fetzer’s
chief interest has been the history of the Julian, Banner,
and Cuyamaca mountain area.

24 and 25 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. both days. It’s your chance
to get some really nice, scarcely used things and at great
bargains, too.
The counters, racks and parking lot will be full to
overflowing with furniture, adult and children’s clothes,
baby needs, garden and sports equipment, jewelry, linens,
shoes, housewares, collectibles and more.
Alpine goes greener for Earth Day
ALPINE — This year’s Earth
Day celebration will be the biggest ever in scenic Alpine.
Sponsored by the local Chamber of Commerce, the day-long
event will take place on Earth Day, Saturday, April 25.
Everyone is welcome to participate between 9 a.m. and 4
p.m. at various locations in Alpine. The first “Alpine Tree
Town USA” celebration and “Going Green” exhibit, both free,
will be held at the historic Town Hall location of the
Alpine Woman’s Club at 2156 Alpine Blvd.
Free recycling of numerous items and paper shredding
will be available at the Albertsons parking lot at 2955
Alpine Blvd.
The Greater Alpine Fire Safe Council is offering free
chipping at Tom Dyke’s Field on Tavern Road, and the Alpine
Artist Association will host demonstrations in the center of
town.
