Vector control
charge unchanged
For the second consecutive year, the County of
San Diego left its vector control assessment rate unchanged from
the previous year. The assessment for Fiscal Year 2009-10 will
be $5.92 for a single-family home.

census just months ahead, efforts are being made to ensure that

Alpine High School Academy has opened its doors at its
new facility for their beginning of the school year orientation.
New Kiwanis members
On Aug. 8 at its regularly scheduled meeting The Kiwanis
Club of Alpine inducted three new members bringing the total
membership to 131.

A “striking” new development
Viejas announced plans today for a new, boutique bowling
center, to be called Viejas Bowl, at the Viejas Outlet Center,
across from the award winning Viejas Casino.
County amends flood damage, watershed protection
ordinances
The County of San Diego approved amendments to the
county codes, which address flood damage prevention and
watershed protection.
Fire concerns continue road standards update until Oct. 23
A subcommittee of the county’s Planning Commission has
been working with various community planning and sponsor groups,
the San Diego County Bicycle Coalition, and other interested
stakeholders to refine the planned updates for the County of San
Diego’s public road standards.
