MUP approved for
Victoria Drive wireless facility
The county’s Planning Commission voted to grant
a Major Use Permit for a wireless communications facility in the
3500 block of East Victoria Drive.
County looks to protect funds from state raids
In an effort to
protect road projects against a future state raid of
transportation funding, the County of San Diego appropriated $12
million from the county’s road fund balance for projects in
various stages of planning, design, and construction.
Proposition 1B funds local street and road projects
In the event the County of San Diego receives
its Proposition 1B funding for local roads, the San Diego County
Board of Supervisors voted 5-0 October 14 to adopt a resolution
designating up to $41,510,000 of Proposition 1B funding to be
used for specific local streets and roads projects.
Woman held without bail in slaying
A Flinn Springs woman has been ordered held without bail
after pleading not guilty to shooting her boyfriend in the
mobile home they had shared for years.
Anderson Bill provides budget relief for local school
districts
It was December of 2008 and the La-Mesa Spring Valley
School District (LMSVSD) was hurting financially. With an
unprecedented economic crisis taking hold in California, state
revenues were plummeting and local school districts were being
asked to carry the lion’s share of the burden. Districts across
the state faced deep cuts in their already cash-strapped
budgets. LMSVSD was no exception. Their district was grappling
with a 12 percent cut from their budget.
