County staff to review trails requirement
for discretionary permits
Although the County of San Diego's trails
program involves voluntary easement acquisition
from landowners, some discretionary permits have
required that the developer dedicate trails
easements on that property. That requirement
will be reviewed by county staff and brought
before the San Diego County Board of Supervisors

Fifth graders get fire wise at Fire Prevention
Day
Viejas welcomed more than 250 fifth graders to a
special Fire Prevention Day, in conjunction to
last week’s National Fire Prevention Week. Just
in time for the fire season here in Alpine,
several districts from all over the county
showed up to educate students on the dangers of
playing with fire. The important message to
remember on Thursday, Oct. 8th, was, “Always be
