approves staffing cuts and reductions
In an attempt to deal with its budget crisis,
the Alpine Union School District Board was
compelled to move ahead with votes to cut
several employee positions and hours. For now,

Local charter school feels the pain of education
cuts
In September, California State handed yet
another cut to an already bleeding school budget
that affected every school in the Alpine Union
School District as well as outlying facilities.
Julian Charter School is also receiving every
slash that the regular school districts are

school that is responsible for the Alpine

Easier 2010 census seeks complete count
A shorter, quicker, easier census questionnaire
is promised for next year’s U.S. Census. The
goal is to be sure that every person living in
this country is counted, regardless of
