residents overwhelm
General Plan update hearings
At least two more San Diego County Board of
Supervisors hearings will be held on the update
to the county's general plan. Public testimony
began Oct. 20 and was continued to a seven-hour
Nov. 10 hearing which saw four requests for
group presentations and 91 individuals wishing
to speak added to the 145 individuals who had
submitted speaker slips October 20 but were not

Motorcycle crash claims the lives of two Alpine
riders
The news of the Ocotillo tragedy has left many
in Alpine with a loss that will forever leave an
empty space. Lance and Amy Heath, of Alpine,
were two of the four people who lost their lives

motorcycle formation to avoid a head on

program
County Supervisor Ron Roberts was willing to
spend $36,370 of his Neighborhood Reinvestment
Program funding on a University of California,
San Diego program to enhance early fire
detection and remote monitoring, and the other
four members of the San Diego County Board of
Supervisors supported the allocation of those
