Cowboy Fire burns more than
800 acres in Back Country
The plume of smoke billowed for what looked like
a hundred feet into the east county sky,
sparking the conscious thoughts of all who live
in the county about fire season. The Cowboy Fire
in Campo began on Thursday afternoon just after
1:30 p.m. as a signal fire that blazed into a

At the Sept. 2 board meeting of the Grossmont
Union High School District, accolades were given
to Coach Sandy Martinez who formed the First
National High School Field Hockey Team. Also,
