Advisory…Officer-Involved Shooting – Alpine

If you live in Alpine, be aware of increased law enforcement activity in your area. An investigation is underway into an officer-involved shooting in the 2100 block of Arnold Way. Please avoid the area if you can.

The staging area for the media is at the east side of Jimmy’s Restaurant located at 2165 Arnold Way. Lt. John Maryon of the Sheriff’s Homicide Detail will be briefing the media.

Just before 9:30 this morning, members of the San Diego Regional Fugitive Task Force (U.S. Marshal, Sheriff’s Department, CHP and Border Patrol) went to the location to arrest a suspect wanted on a felony warrant. The man got in his car and during the course of the arrest a shot was fired.

No officers, deputies or agents were hurt. The suspect was wounded and taken to a hospital for treatment.

NO schools in the area are on lockdown.
