Honoring our Veterans in Alpine has become a great celebration. This year, the Alpine Kiwanis sponsored a Memorial Day picnic welcoming all in Alpine to come and enjoy a classic barbequed picnic lunch prepared by volunteers.  Hundreds showed up at the Alpine Community Park to commemorate all who served in the United States Armed Forces.  Many showed up wearing their Red, White, & Blue, to enjoy a sunny day filled with ardent verve.

Choirs gathered to sing  patriotic songs, beautifully filling the park with melodic allegiance, and the faithful covered their hearts to show their unwavering statesmanship.  Even the Boy Scouts lent their voices to three devotional favorites.
County Supervisor Dianne Jacob, Senator Joel Anderson and US Representative Duncan Hunter were all present  to show solidarity and to help Alpine celebrate.  There were veterans and families of veterans from World War II, the Korean War, the Vietnam War and the Iraq War.  Stories were shared about historical campaigns and many were honored for their service.
