Creekside Early Learning Center
The first day of school is looming and Creekside Early Learning Center is eagerly waiting to meet each and every new student, and returning student that will be attending the 2012-13 school year. This year, the Alpine Union School District is looking forward to re-visioning each of their schools by maximizing student engagement for deep, long lasting learning. They are integrating this new vision into Creekside Early Learning Center by implimenting their new program, Pathways Plus.
Class sizes are going up, however, Pathways Plus will allow each student to have an engaging interaction with his or her teacher by using new technology and invigorating new techniques. The Pathways Plus program initiates smaller group activities that allow for stimulating teacher attention and a focalized reading time between teacher and student.
“Every child will have one on one time, reading with their teacher,” says Principal Keith Malcolm.
Also available at Creekside is their preschool program, this program encompasses special needs children as well as regular needs children, incorporating a caring environment that includes all. The program is free and is enrolling children ages 3 – 5, to cultivate skills that will help the student to segue into kindergarten with a developed maturity that encompasses acceptance.
