Easter is the day for thousands of eggs
It was the annual Easter Egg Hunt sponsored and provided by Bethel Christian Assemby of Alpine at the Joan MacQueen Middle School Sports fields.
Hundreds showed up to hunt for eggs spread across three different sports fields. Children in their Easter finery were running across the grass to gather up their spring treasures.
This year, the proceedings were changed slightly, as each egg was not filled. Children were guided to a candy booth to trade in their found eggs for Easter Candy, to alleviate the build up of trash on the fields from the opened candy. It has been a problem in the past, and it takes hours to clean up all the wrappers that are dropped on the grass after the children open the candy that are in their eggs.
This year, two scooters and a tyke bike was also given away as ‘carrot’ prizes.
