A great way to end the summer holiday is to throw the biggest bash in the community! On Labor Day Sunday, after the 10:00 mass, Our Lady of Light Catholic Church celebrates with a deep pit barbeque that rivals none other.

Cars 4 a Cause came crusing into Alpine to benefit Relay for Life. About 30 cars were arranged all around Alpine Elementary’s parking lot to help the American Cancer Society. This is their first big car show for the Alpine Area. Each car was buffed up and shining in the bright sun, attracting strollers to appreciate the tender loving care that went into each vehicle.

Sunday’s Summer Concert at the Alpine Community Center Park, performed by Cool Fever kept the crowd on their toes. The Kiwanis were there with their cook shack, providing a tasty dinner for anyone who wanted a fresh burger with accoutrements.

August 16— Shortly after 11 a.m. on Thursday morning a Ford Ranger pick-up truck veered off of west bound Interstate 8 at the Victoria Bridge.  The driver and passenger were killed instantly when the vehicle impacted a tree and flipped landing on its roof in a mangled mass. 

August opens up the doors for every high school graduate to really begin their journey, reaching for their dreams and looking forward to their college careers.  Zachary Wiley is on his way, setting his sights on a life of medicine, his first stop is Notre Dame, for his general education, and bachelor’s degree.  Then his plans include Stanford for his choice of medical schools.

Alpine Country Day School has reached their thirtieth year in business in Alpine!  For thirty years, the ladies at this daycare and preschool have been nurturing Alpine’s children, and have had the opportunity to see  and care for the children of the children that they have cared for.  These ladies have cultivated a whole generation of Alpine, and are happy to continue to care for the kids as they thrive at this loving facility.
