Are you kidding? The blame

Are you kidding? The blame falls on the shoulders of teachers?! I wonder if you've ever tried teaching a class of 25+ students, 6 hours a day, with a severely limited budget! Oh yes, shame on teachers for wanting equitable treatment for the tremendous amount of work they do for our children! Shame on teachers for standing up for their rights to not be stripped of their wages due to their district's failure to be financially prepared! Shame on teachers for protecting their own children and families and not agreeing to work for free! Would you agree to a 30% pay cut and the possibility of not receiving a paycheck? Considering you seem so concerned about your own children and their well being, I'm assuming not. What an insult you've made to educators by placing any blame on them! Do you really think this is what they want? Do you really think that all the hard work and dedication put forth this year is easy to walk away from? At some point, teachers HAVE to stand up for themselves and put their families and the need for fair practices first! If you think any teacher on that picket line is happy to be there, you are sadly mistaken. I challenge you to step into a classroom and try teaching just one day! It takes a very talented and dedicated person to teach our children and I fully support this group of educators in their quest for equality! Stay strong Alpine teachers!
